BKB, you reminded me of this coin that I was looking for.
I'll have to pass...
Boy o boy, I been looking for a sister for my 1771. Thinking hard... Only problem is that he does not grade only problem coins.

Nice! Is it typical for these coins to have a better struck reverse than obverse?
Bronze does not "flow" well into the small details on the die... Definitely worse than copper. Takes very little wear to deface those little coats of arms, because they are very flat. The fields are still nice and not much corrosion is evident on the photos.

If you can buy it for 100 and re-sell it for a profit, you deserve an award of some sort...
-
yep, that has got to be the best one out there, but, the price tag is insane.
-
Easier to find 1771 in that condition...

I do not mean that you can find one better if you pay $3000. I meant that you should be able to find one better for the money. I did a few times...

IMIS, these small moldavian coins you can find in a much better condition (IMXO)

There were a few instances of forceful removal of certain coin types from circulation, most notable one being Ivan portrait coins. Also, the removal of 1723 5 kop. already mentioned However, due to the fact that the exchange laws were unfair to the population, a lot of them were hidden away and, therefore, survived.

Great to have you back. Great you did not have to sell much of the collection!!!!! I had to sell parts in the past to finance 2 different projects, and it feel s like crap.

still, nice to find a round and centered coin.

great stuff. Something for everyone...

nah..., hate crooks

He is very explicit in that you are not supposed to leave a negative feedback, when you get this fake and he will refuse a return. Love it.

2nd may be more rare, but I like the first design a lot more

sigi, another very cute coin!

From your list I collect Georgian coins. About 15-10 years ago I was able to find 2-3 coins on every show .
Last year at Chicago ANA show one coin dealer ask me question "Were is all Georgian coins disappeared?"
Rarenum
No, you could not have possibly bought all of them?!

even an ugly common 3r platinum is over $2K now...

This one is nice. It is priced right too.

most likely was found with 2 rotten copper coins attached to both sides. Sometimes comes off easy. Sometimes there is corrosion under it.

Sigi, yours is very, very sexy.

The coin is in very good condition. I see no damage. Most likely will clean up very nicely

As long as we understand the quantities of the stuff already dug up, we should re-visit the copper rarity. As far as a rare coin in collectable condition (not dug up, good color, xf+) goes, the rarity is untouched. Can go by Ilyin, etc. There is an influx of common coins in collectable condition and rotten rarities. Despite of the new law, reportedly, all diggers are still digging. Thus, if you include rotten coins into rarity tables, then the rarity is diluted severely. I cannot think of any copper coin (except patterns) that was not dug up in recent years. Even 1762 denga made its appearance 5 years ago on MiM. Albeit, rotten as hell. But, when it comes to regular coins in spectacular condition, and rare coins in collectable/spectacular condition -- there is no supply... They are much harder to get than ever before (IMXO).

just a rarity perspective + price info... There are 8 on molotok right now, some are in better shape and all except one are cheaper.

Had it been the no "km" one, that would be a different story.
I love ebay deals myself, and I got a few over the years, but rotten copper is very common now in Russia (exempt for great rarities). 1/2 country is going around with minesweepers digging up tons of copper coins. Even great rarities as 1789mm 1 kop are eroding. For instance, there is currently more than 1 for sale and the price is not insane... Yes, we do not have an easy access to that yet, but, what if it starts flowing here? Also, I would much rather but 1 beautiful coin, than 20 rotten one for the same money. That is just my piece of mind. If you want to sell something rotten one day, you will know it is solid advice that I am trying to give here.
M-dv is good for rare coins. Common stuff does not make it to the auction to be listed there.
Re-edging (double, interesting, combination edge) and Edge Errors

In an attempt to create a rarity... Some rubles of Peter I 1718 -- 1721 have fun edges with dates not corresponding to the coin dates...
That Siberian is also a suspect. Until there is one not "dug-up" looking and all rotten, I am not going to believe it.
