  1. lol. Took you long enough. I was begining to think you reverted to "noob"ism and didn't understand the significance of a 1933 $20, let alone ANY 1930 gold coin
  2. That's when you pretend you have your own coins to deposit too.
  3. pretty cool find actually. i saw it in a tip jar, asked to exchange it for a $20 bill. It was a double eagle. the glint of gold was distinctive of course, even if it was really really dull and worn. I can barely read the date. I'd guess 1930something. maybe 33. meh. whatever. its probably just worth melt.
  4. What I like most about jeff. nickels: You can tell from a mile away if they're of numismatic interest. Usually you can tell a war nickel or a pre-1964 nickel from the high relief, the wear pattern, or the toning. I saw one sitting in my dad's pocket change. I knew it was special, picked it up and was a little sad it was a 1969. But happy to see the "S" under the date! I always treasure an san fran. minted coin I find in circulation. Cool beans.
  5. I'm most impressed with the margins being very even and square.
  6. The $10 1914 FRN like the one above is my favorite of the reverse designs. How many more sig. combos do you need? Surely I've seen you post other $10 notes on here.
  7. She almost looks more beautiful with some nice circulation wear. Nice, jtryka!
  8. I motion that if someone can post coins with certifiable dates that ADD to 1766, that counts. Anyone have a 1765 dated coin and a year 1 dated coin?
  9. Where's the S? Great coin, mark!
  10. Way to go, Jeff. When you post notes like these, you inspired me to find some of my own.
  11. From a recent Heritage auction: 1896-O Barber dime ANACS AG 3 AG 3??? Yes, I bought it on purpose for that grade. Pics to be posted later. Also received the latest Neil Young CD. Hope its good.
  12. Heh... he looks like Richard Lewis, the comedian
  13. The ONLY reason I am not jumping on them is because I've spent a lot of $$ recently... I can barely justify the recent spending. I am having a hard time justifying your lovelies. :-( Feel free to sell them to others but if my mind change I'll let you know!
  14. Nice coin, clive. Where do you find a market to sell/buy these?

  16. I saw a quarter on my desk with a deeper relief than normal around the "In God We Trust" on the obverse. I looked at it and it was a 1964! I haven't found a silver coin, let alone a quarter, in quite a while! Woo! A 1970 was nearby too. Must've gotten them through some toll booth... good thing I don't have an EZ Pass
  17. Got an 1934-S San Diego Commem. Half Dollar - MS-64 by PCGS. My... 4th commem. design. Mintage is 70,132. I'm guessing I got the last one... the strike isn't as nice as it could be. But I don't mind! I love the design!
  18. YOC, do you ever go metal detecting or ever find one of these nice artifacts in the ground?
  19. Awesome catches, YOC! I'm always astonished by the dates of those coins and that we know who minted them and where!
