LostDutchman
minor misaligned dies are common. Major misalignments like this are hard if not rare to find.
BiggAndyy
I thought the modern equipment would not allow this type of error to occur anymore? That dime is dated 199x.

BiggAndyy
Could it have been a die allignment trial piece that "somehow" got into circulation? The mint employee rather than toss it into the waffle bin tossed it into the circulation bin.
LostDutchman
who knows?.... It could very well be. I picked this coin out of a dealers "off center" box. This coin will retail for $60-$100 if not more. It pays to learn about errors..... check through those off center boxes and ask dealers if they have any errors....if you know errors you can make money at coin shows because a lot of dealers aren't up to speed with them or their prices... What I find very interesting and that I have Never seen before is that the ob and re are not both off center. Only the obverse is. The Reverse only looks weak becasue that side was not struck on the obverse. Way cool. -Bobby
