ccg
No comment since I'm not familiar with those holders*. If I had to pick, I'd lean towards N/T only if the coin came from a warm, humid environment. Otherwise A/T. *Certain holders (ie. Canada 1971-73 S$1) are known to produce colorful toning. Guest 50cents
I would say AT
LostDutchman
that is natural toning...Notice the green in the coin...As far as I am aware there is not a method as of yet to get that nice rich green from AT...besides a sharpie marker
Guest Stujoe
This is one I would put in my wide category between Absolute NT and Absolute AT because I could go either way on it. I would lean toward NT, though.
Grifter
I'd say NT, because the toning goes into the recesses of the coin, and does not just lay on top. No beaded look or spots all over it coming from a liquid agent. Again it's either NT, or very good AT.
bobbycoin
I had to be away from my computer... I prolly would have got it http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 -Bobby
LostDutchman
that looks like 2 different coins.......the first set of pictures is the one you posted.....the second one has to be a different coin....the second one appears to be AT notice the spots on the coin that has not toned
bobbycoin
If it was two diferent coins they went through a lot of trouble tomake them look the same. Notice the yellow mark on the left of the obverse cardboard and the dot under the staple on the right. The same in both pictures. It is very interesting that those spots seem to apear at a diferent angle. Guess hands on would be the best judge of toning -Bobby
LostDutchman
My god your right!.......well I now retract my previous statement about that being natural.... That green threw me for a loop but now that I see that angle you can see that it is yellow... That is AT folks....the spots are a dead give away...that is where whatever chemicals they put on it either were not on those parts of the coin or they were not there long enough to oxidize the silver. Grifter
The second picture looks horrible. You're right Dutchman, it is AT. Good job.
