extant4cell
Interesting to see photographs of coins with interesting double / combination edge as a result of re-edging and some edge errors, if they are interesting. Here are a few examples:2 копейки 1758 sold for $30 in 2010! Moscow edge as far as I can see... Polushkas and dengas are plentiful with edge "problems" as such (more or less). I'm sure that there must be similar interesting re-edging examples for silver and larger copper. If you have good example, please show them here. gxseries
I remember having two unusual error edging with 1 ruble (1830s?) and a 1835 1.5 ruble - 10 zlot coin in my collection. From memory, the ruble coin had some unusual indent and the 1.5 ruble coin had its edge re-edged (very minor). Have to look for them. The biggest error edging that I can think of right now is the 2013 North Ossetia 10 ruble bimetal coin.
alexbq2
Have a few coins that skipped edging altogether. I think all are coppers from Elizabeth's rule.
sigistenz
This is spectacular - I wouldn't have believed it. Is it your coin, Eugene? I do not have anything to contribute, I'm affraid . Sigi .
extant4cell
That's one of the coins they've shown on Russian forum. It has left rope, hinting that left rope was the first one to be used (experemental). I am still looking for a 1767 KM-less...

gxseries
Edge looks too sharp in it's condition. I reckon it's edged later in it's life.
extant4cell
It looks that way. Why, when, where?
BKB
It looks that way. Why, when, where? In an attempt to create a rarity... Some rubles of Peter I 1718 -- 1721 have fun edges with dates not corresponding to the coin dates... That Siberian is also a suspect. Until there is one not "dug-up" looking and all rotten, I am not going to believe it.
alexbq2
Here it is: Any thoughts? I do not have any particular thoughts on this coin. Did you buy it? I think I do remember seeing a reeded 1840 10 groszy coin that looked convincing. MW may have experimented with edging at some point. extant4cell
Yes, I bought this lot, as I wanted to have a look at it closely, and I liked the coins. Apparently Warsaw mint was making 3 Grosh coins: http://www.m-dv.ru/catalog/id,5940/prohod.html somewhat earlier, a little lighter and smaller though... I talked to the seller of this coin. He believes the edge on 2 kopecks coin was made in 1920s as someone tried to create a rare coin for a collector in the era when the catalogs were difficult to come by, and a lot of coins could still be found that were not described in the catalog. I think that explanation is the most viable, as in 1860s WM was producing coins in the edge holding rings, and it's easy to see that edge was made later, after the coin as it comes to play to the obv/rev. Also, it looks like it was in circulation a little to smooth the edges a bit. In any case, it stimulated some conversations and reading. BKB is correct.
