extant4cell
These are counterfiets made for circulation, I absolutely agree. I'd be interested.
Blackdrone
the 5 kopek looks like made by original mintneedle no?
BKB
5 kop looks original. Sometimes patina on these can be this sort of metallic black. The others are counterfeits for circulation.
Blackdrone
Weight is 25g, and im sure it's not bronze the coin sound is different as normal 5 kopeks!
extant4cell
The metal it is made from is most important. The first time I have seen one of these counterfeits, I couldn't believe it wasn't the original coin until I tried to ring it. It sounded very dull. I recently found out as well, that there were some counterfeit dengas around made with a big concentration of iron. Haven't found one yet. extant4cell
Check if it rings and it's weight and that will settle it.
Blackdrone
when i ring it, the sound is not same as normal 5 kopeks.
extant4cell
is the ring dull or just short with a different frequency?
rsraghead
I'm working at teaching my 10yr old stepson to listen to the coin, and learning that it is hard to explain the correct sounds to somebody else

extant4cell
In that case it is similar to this one: http://www.rnumis.com/rnumis_research_0.php?db_pgtyp=db_pgtyp_rf_single&rf_id=435 made of tin... If you decide to sell them, let me know. I have a small collection of fakes.
BKB
In that case it is similar to this one: http://www.rnumis.com/rnumis_research_0.php?db_pgtyp=db_pgtyp_rf_single&rf_id=435 made of tin... If you decide to sell them, let me know. I have a small collection of fakes. Who has this coin? Is it really tin? Can someone confirm? Looks like a mishandled novodel to me. Does not look like a forgery for circulation.
extant4cell
http://coins.su/forum/index.php?showtopic=100648 The last coin in this topic. I only assumed it was tin, no research done. I just asked the person who posted the images to provide more info, if available. If I hear from him, I'll post his answer here...
BKB
Must be a modern fake, not forgery for circulation. Looks like toned copper.
