  1. It looks like the production of one Belorussian master that was "improved" by a hammer.
  2. After all overstrikes, it is still a good looking coin. I appreciate such coins a lot
  3. Nice one. I only saw political messages on banknotes.
  4. http://www.staraya-moneta.ru/forum/messages/forum15/topic39833/message341685/#message341685
  5. The main question is, will you visit Russia again?
  6. Moscow, 1998 is the 1st edition, AFAIK. Moscow, 2010 — the latest one, it is the 4th edition.
  7. It looks suspicious even without the edge, IMHO.
  8. I agree that 5kop is probably original.
  9. Not only age. "лет" can be also applied to the period in time, for example. "11-й год" , like in "11 AD", is the object itself, while "I'm 11 years old(мне 11 лет)" is the trait of particular object/person. Not starting linguistic discussion, let's just note that "лет" is just plural form genitive case of word "год".
  10. Collapse is more or less over. Priority Mail arrives in less than a month.
  11. Letters and the cross are very nice. I agree with squirrel, coin itself is great. How much did you pay for it?
  12. I mean that dies are rotated by 45 degrees. Actually, I made a mistake, remembering from Uzdenikov about "45 degrees rotation". It was about 1724-1725 roubles on Spb mint. It's much more interesting coin then.
  13. This coin sides orientation is more rare, AFAIK.
  14. Here is an article about varieties of 1924 rouble. It's in Russian, but Google Translate should help. http://sovmint.ru/?p=2153
  15. As I can see So there are no "bubbles" on surface? I'm curious, how those bubbles can appear. Edge on galvano-fakes is usually being fixed manually. I never had luck to have a close look on such coins, maybe bubbles are common.
  16. My bad, sorry. 42.9 and 45.8 are perfectly fits remedium allowance. If weight differs for more than 20%, then it's a strike on special planchet — to fix the weight of coin group. Anyway, I think it nice to have coins with small deviation of normal weight
  17. What is the weight of 5 kopeks 1787?
  18. Commemorative medal for the battle of Akhaltsikhe (1828). Diakov #1785 (R1). Struck in 1839. Medaliers are Lyalin and Klepikov, based on design and model done by Tolstoy. Not the area of my interest, but it wasn't hard for me to find this on google.
  19. I'll add that price for this guidebook is around $32 plus shipping from Russian Federation.
