William Travis Focker
I was curious if anyone here has any opinions on the euro currency with a view to banknote collecting. Obviously the Euro stifled new issues of many currencies, reducing the variety available going forward. Has the currency union affected collection or valuation of pre-euro banknotes? Would you relish a collapse of the union (as some are now speculating could happen) for the restoration of national currency notes?
Dave M
I haven't seen any impact on note from France. While I'd enjoy picking up a new French banknote as it came out, I don't think my hobby should have a higher priority than the success of the EU Dave
MauMauNotes
i hate the euro, i dont like the euro (notes and coins), , i think it's a step towards(?) the use of credit cards we are going from 1000 currencies to 20 currencies which should end soon or later into 1-2 currencies translated into the digital format of Credit Cards (as soon as more countries develop, which is going to happen) and save a lot of trillions in printing and minting of course this could take decades, but imho, it's written in the future. so maybe in some far away day, all this nice paper that we are collecting will be worth something more than today
