jtryka
I have no idea if it was a good deal or not, but this coin is likely from the Benson collection which was auctioned by Goldbergs in 2002. I am not sure what area Dr. Benson was known for, but having the pedigree on a coin can be a nice thing.
Art
I've seen a number of Benson pedigree coins but have no idea about the story behind them.
just carl
The 45S for $32 was a decent price but nothing spectacular. That is the problem with a PCGS slabbed coin though. You are sort of paying a few dollars extra to pay for someones payment to have it slabbed. You didn't mention full bands but I would hope that PCGS would not give a MS-66 for a coin without. To bad it wasn't a micro S. What are the dates and condition of the other Merc Dimes? That may have been a much better deal. Almost ever place sells even the worst conditioned ones for over a Dollar. Finn235
The merc dimes for 50 cents each was definitely a good deal, assuming they're authentic. According to http://www.coinflation.com/silver_coin_values.html they should be worth $1.32 each for melt value alone.
