marv
A rare 1846 Half-Crown - my latest little acquisition. Pity about the scratches. Think of it this way: if it weren't for the scratches, you might have had to pay a lot more for the coin.
NumisMattic2200
Most probably the case - and the prices of those are cruelly high....... ----------- Next up...an 1844! Great reverse on this one - not bad for 24 quid!
NumisMattic2200
I am not sure what way round this coin is meant to be but this is a quarter Stater of the Durotriges tribe - from an eastern region of Celtic southern England. NumisMattic2200
Here is my latest Celtic acquisition - a silver Unit of the Dobunni. Spink 377 - can't quite narrow this to a specific type as my book says "Allen Types A-F/I-J". Reverse is an abstract, devolved Apollo head, reverse shows a triple-tailed horse. Not quite sure of grade? I paid around fifty pounds for this example. Was this right?
