WCO
This 1 Kopeck coin on Russian auction is advertised as overdate 1796/5, but such overdate was never listed by Adrianov (several other dates are known as overdates). http://www.efimok.ru/viewlot.asp?id=9039 coin: http://www.efimok.ru/upload/lot/44a_66_b_1.jpg http://www.efimok.ru/upload/lot/44a_66_b_2.jpg However, this overdate may be just die break that goes between "9" and "6" of date. Any opinions on what it is (overdate or die break) are appreciated. There is another Kopeck of 1795 which is also listed as overdate by that firm: http://www.efimok.ru/viewlot.asp?id=9038 Coin: http://www.efimok.ru/upload/lot/44a_65_b_1.jpg http://www.efimok.ru/upload/lot/44a_65_b_2.jpg How about this? Is this one an overdate? Best regards, WCO

gxseries
Ok, let's put away all the catalogues first since we might end up being bias. I suggest we should analysis what we have. I tried to manipulate what I could. I find it very difficult to believe that the first coin is not an overdate - I see it as 1796/3. See how there is a head on the top of 6 and there is a curl in the holed area of 6? Would be quite difficult believe if it's just a die break. http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/8687/44a66b1ag3.jpg The second one looks to me as a 1795/4 which should look more obvious: http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/3475/44a65b1lv9.jpg

WCO
Thanks to everyone who answered. As for me 1796 Kopeck looks as it has just a die break. Not disputing 1795 Kopeck as overdate, seems as 1795/3 to me too.
