WCO
http://www.coins.su/forum/viewtopic.php?p=194588#194588 weight 21,4 fake? The pictures on that site available (and it is possible to see them) only for registered users. I guess not that many people would want to go through registration procedures just to see the images. bobh
Is this porosity/pitting normal on these old roubles? I first thought it was a cast piece, but the lamination on the eagle side makes me think maybe not.
WCO
Is this porosity/pitting normal on these old roubles? I first thought it was a cast piece, but the lamination on the eagle side makes me think maybe not. Porosity is quite often found on 18-th century Rubles, obviously someone did not like it and tried to smooth obverse with tooling. The coin is damaged now; worth very little comparable to what undamaged coin of this kind would worth. WCO
