Some planchets, but from which coins?

I have bought a lot of planchets for fun. I have taken all of the aluminium ones and measured the diameter and thickness. Would you guys (the specialists that you are) recognize any of them? I can't weigh them, but I guess I could calculate it, using the properties of aluminium. Coin n°6 & 8 have a rounded edge (prepared for the strike), so the thickness isn't exact. I have measured the high rims of those.

Any other tips to track these down?

Try India, Jos. I am somewhat suspecting that most of these planchets were meant for Indian coinages.

Yes, that is one of the possibilities. I was also thinking of Israel and other countries in the Middle East.

It will take some searching though...

Jos, would there be any sellers who sell them? ;) Would be very interested.

I haven't seen it before. It was a seller that didn't specialize in coins. If you want some of them, I'll throw them in your box :ninja:

Number 3: 2 Paise 1969-1981

Number 4: 5 Paise 1967-now (could be post or pre-1982, but I will have to weigh it one day)

Number 2 matches with the 10 Paise 1967-1971, but those weren't in aluminium. The later ones that were in alu, are of a different design.

You might want to check this link out Jos:

Blank manufacturers for various mints - you'll never know if they are related.

I've checked some, but there aren't many that have aluminium coins in their productrange. Hard to derive it from that way, but some good thinking there, Gx ;)

Number 2,3 and 4 look like they could be planchets for the current 1,2 and 5 Cents of the "East Caribbean States"... :ninja:

Jose ;)

It sure is!! Perfect match. Great! Thx, Jose ;)
