belg_jos Posted May 31, 2007 Report Share Posted May 31, 2007 I have bought a lot of planchets for fun. I have taken all of the aluminium ones and measured the diameter and thickness. Would you guys (the specialists that you are) recognize any of them? I can't weigh them, but I guess I could calculate it, using the properties of aluminium. Coin n°6 & 8 have a rounded edge (prepared for the strike), so the thickness isn't exact. I have measured the high rims of those. Any other tips to track these down? Yes, that is one of the possibilities. I was also thinking of Israel and other countries in the Middle East. It will take some searching though... belg_jos Posted May 31, 2007 Author Report Share Posted May 31, 2007 Number 3: 2 Paise 1969-1981 Number 4: 5 Paise 1967-now (could be post or pre-1982, but I will have to weigh it one day) Number 2 matches with the 10 Paise 1967-1971, but those weren't in aluminium. Hard to derive it from that way, but some good thinking there, Gx Number 2,3 and 4 look like they could be planchets for the current 1,2 and 5 Cents of the "East Caribbean States"...
