I just stumbled upon a nice collection online while looking for examples of Gothic Crowns. This is the Victoria museum collection in Australia, and there are some nice examples of American gold there as well:

Very interesting, but unfortunately, someone at some point in time harshly cleaned several of the coins, particularly the 1853 San Francisco $20 piece. The Gothic Crown is looking wiped at some point too.

 

Yes, true. I wouldn't kick any of them out of my collection, though. An Unc. Gothic crown is one of my dream coins. I'll have one some day. The Victorian Coronation Medal is also one I'd love to have. Mild damage doesn't put me off. I'm not a wealthy enough collector to be too discriminating.
