Blackhawk
I got these in a Canadian lot at an auction. All have the same toning and appear to have reflective fields under the toning. Do you think that they could be part of a PL or specimen set? Here are photos of the coins. The toning makes them hard to photograph...very hard to show detail. ccg
My first impression is no. But it's hard to say since the toning obsecures everything. Most likely it's a put-together set. Of note, some PL and MS dies were mixed, so there are coins with MS/PL die pairings, PL dies in MS runs, and MS coins in PL sets. It doesn't help that the US TPGs (especially NGC*) are really bad at seperating the two (not that ICCS is perfect either) *The main problem is that American and Canadian numismatists have different definitions of "PL"
unicorn
I would tend to agree with ya ccg they don't look like they would have been a pl set, you would still see some of the shine from it. the toning is still nice thou
