  1. thedeadpoint - Thanks for spotting the mistake. Sorry for testing your eye sight. I was just too happy that I forgotten to make changes to the second picture url link when I did a cut and paste from banknotebank. Anyway, it is a happy mistake.
  2. Just received this rare beauty for my collection. Really overjoyed to have it in my collection. Canada 2002 $10 BEK 5555555 ( Knight-Dodge ). This is a changeover prefix. It is the last solid 555555 with Knight-Dodge signatures. In this BEK prefix series, notes numbered 0000000 to 8599999 have the signatures of Knight and Dodge; notes numbered 8600000 to 9999999 have the signatures of Jenkins and Dodge. At the same time, number 8600000, the printing date changed from 2002 to 2003, so BEK is actually a changeover prefix for two reasons. It is rare Canadian solid.
  3. Latest Acquisition : Phlippines 1949 Series 10 Peso Solid 555555 in uncirculated condition.
  4. Latest addition is a New Zealand $2 555555. Issued in 1967-1968. It is a short issue. Signed by Chief Cashier Robert Neal Fleming. Circulaton Mintage is 30 million. It is a scarce solid with only 30 pieces of solid 555555 if all the pieces exist and savage from the circulation. This note is a GEM.
  5. Yes, countries such as Bangladesh will be difficult to find such solids as there are no available pool of local collectors for solids. I prefer collect such countries' solids even though this note have staple holes, two tears at the centre left and right.
  6. Just added this new country Blangadesh. Large Denomination 1999 500 Taka Solid 5555555. A pretty worn out note but it is a good addition into my collection.
  7. I think this early series of Ireland banknote was designed in a abstract ( modern ) art type. Incidently this series of note is quite popular among world collectors. I myself have the 1 and 5 pounds in uncirculated condition with solid serial numbers.
  8. Not sure as I have no time to investigate on them. One thing for sure, they must be the good fellas, famous and I don't remember them appearing in Godfather 1,2 and 3.
  9. Just added two new Italian solid 555555 into my existing collection of three other notes. I am still short of the denomination 2,000, 20,000 and 100,000 to complete representating Italy in my solid 555555 collection. Here are the scans.
  10. I like the reverse design. If only it can be view close-up to see the details. That should be interesting.
  11. I think I have one or two pieces of these Algerian notes somewhere. They are beautiful French influenced notes.
  12. --- I am slowing down lately in my collection but I am still collecting. Last month purchase was a HK HSBC 1999 $500 555555 when I was in Hong Kong. For the Vietnam 100,000 Dong, it is light green. Some yellow color noted as well. I got an earlier similar piece with a year 2006 issued 06 555555. Thanks
  13. Added two new notes into my collection. (1) Vietnam 2005 100,000 Dong Super solid 05 555555. (2) Indonesia 2004 20,000 rupiah solid 555555.
  14. If the Kid grew up naughty, I will sell them and put $$$ into my retirement funds.
  15. There is another set AB000003 currently selling in ebay. Currently bidded up to 255 pounds and the no good news is a reserve price is place on the auction. That will dampen the spirit of auction.
  16. My latest acquisition for my son's collection. Scotland 2007 5,10,20 and 50 pounds Second Prefix low serial number AB000005
  17. Thanks everyone for the encouragement. If anyone know or has other world solid number 555555 and 888888 from Europe, Africa and South and Central America, do let me know. I will be interested to expand the collection.
  18. My latest collected piece. A Portugal 1989 1000 Escudos Solid 55555.
  19. One solution is to spend money to buy the catalog books for the pick numbers. Alternatively, you can check on some the world collector website who has their collection display with the pick number. You can get most of it from Ron Wise website. As for newer ones, you can check with those who have the latest copy of the catalogue. I think you should be able to build a good database of pick numbers. You may want to share your fruit of labour with the rest of us. Hee hee...
  20. I don't think there is one. I read somewhere earlier that you can subscribe to an online database from the publisher of Standard Catalog. Catalog book gets outdated as new banknotes appear. New Pick number were also created to label them. Alternatively, create a pick database on a spreadsheet. It may be a long process of entering the data with the scans.
  21. What you need is a database of pick numbers with sample scan of each banknote for your mobile references. Most banknotes collection software worked similiarly. Some may extend further functionalities such as helping the banknote dealer to manage their inventories, budgeting, customer relationship management and storing of historical records of sales items plus all the comprehensive function of running a business. For a collector requirement, we may only require an entry and editing function and some form of search function and a presentation function for viewers.
  22. Nice sequential notes collected !
