  1. Very nice @thedeadpoint - I'm going to guess there were likely a few rolls that survived intact and got certified together. UNC Straits pieces are usually pretty nice - I seldom see "baggy" UNCs.
  2. Great piece! It's always nice to compare medallic works with coins designed by the same artist to see how they compare
  3. A die, like any object, can only take so much stress before it fails. That said, dies are made of pretty strong alloys to withstand the high and constant pressure placed on them when striking planchets. As for the latter portion of your post - I'm sure there are plenty of structural engineers who'd beg to differ.
  4. A lovely piece. Hong Kong is always fun for notes since along with Scotland and N. Ireland it's one of the three jurisdictions left where commercial banks actually issue banknotes.
  5. Hi! If you can post a photo that's help us help you :-)
  6. I'm with Art. A poorly colorized piece is better than a piece that's half cleaned, especially if there's any selective plating. With the former, it'd likely still trade the same as a regular SAE. With the latter, it might be considered to be a damaged piece and trade at a discount.
  7. Hard to say exactly from that photo, but it looks like it might be a lamination issue.
  8. Struck copies, nickel alloy, and as constantius noted, relatively modern, likely no more than 10-15 years old.
  9. Likewise. Tortoises are cool, but I'm not a big fan of issues for places that wouldn't actually have a use for currency. It reminds me of the concept of fantasies in the stamp world.
  10. This. Those who submit in bulk can get far cheaper pricing, and so on moderns, it's often easier to buy in the secondary market, especially if you're happy to take anything less than absolute perfect.
  11. 1913 nickel and brasher, yes, but a stella hasn't been crossed off my list yet of things to see.
  12. If you can kindly provide a photo we might be able to assist with the attribution.
