  1. Canada had silver five cent pieces up to 1921, too. About 14.5mm -- is that the same size as the US half-dime?
  2. I find it kind of amazing that in a contest that started with coins dating from the 4th century to the 21st, the two finalists are only two years apart in age.
  3. I gotta think hard about this one. EDIT: Okay, I voted, but I reserve the right to delete it and change my mind. Yikes.
  4. I can't say I don't mind losing to this... but I *can* say this is a beautiful piece that deserves to move on to the next round.
  5. Couple goodies from the change machine at work -- 2013P White Mountain (NH) AtBQ, two Yellowstones, and a set of 2000PD Delaware SHQs that are in MUCH better condition than a coin out of change should be in... also, a 2013 cent at the grocery store. NIce to see coins in the same year they were minted! 'Course, I'm really looking forward to the Perry Monument quarter -- you could see it from my grandparents' place on Lake Erie, when the weather was right.
  6. Funny thing is, I thought if anything I had up had a chance in this category, it would've been the Greek Five Kings issue, and that went by the wayside a lot earlier than I expected. (unrolls about five feet of paper) Anyway, I'd like to thank--[band starts up and the ushers shuffle ikaros off quickly]
  7. Yikes. That's all I have to say about this match-up. Yikes.
  8. Even with the wear, it still has strong design features, and it's hard not to appreciate a piece that's unique. Congrats!
  9. I so very much want one of these.
  10. I just voted for the one I'd rather have in my collection -- and I did not always vote in my own favor, doing it that way.
  11. Those are some brutal votes out there. The only way I've found to decide is to figure out which one I want most in my collection -- or if one of mine is involved, if I'd be willing to trade it for the other. Even then, it's not easy!
  12. At least you have one guaranteed win, Scott... I don't have that luxury! Criminy, I don't know which way to go yet...
  13. Augh! No matter what I do I have to vote against myself!
  14. Got a roll. Got five rolls of nickels, actually, and a roll of dollars. Bupkus. The closest things to anything worth reporting were a couple of the Native American series dollars, and the '12PD nickels, none of which were already in my 'from circulation' folders. All right, DreamFlight, what's your secret?
  15. 1946D Jeff has just found its way into my retirement home for well-travelled monetary tokens. Come to think of it, I will have to get a few rolls of miscellaneous coins to stroll through while I'm out and about today.
  16. I may give my dime my vote just so it doesn't get completely skunked! XD
  17. Condition and personal collecting interests made the farthing an easy choice for me.
  18. Good morning from a fellow Buckeye! I've picked up a little taste for elongated cents, at least as souvenirs of my visits to various places.
  19. As long as they settle down to a sane couple numbers again so that the intrinsic value doesn't overwhelm the collector's value anymore--I never considered $1600/oz to be a realistic price for gold and am amazed it lasted as long as it did. I'd love to see $300 again, but I don't realistically expect it. $800 is possible. $500 would be a real win.
