Canadian dime, 1929 Wheatie, toasted steel cent, 1954 silver Rosey! ?

By any chance does the edge show any copper?

From the bill.....
‘(E) LIMITATION IN SERIES TO DECEASED PRESIDENTS.—
No coin issued under this subsection may bear the image
of a living former or current President, or of any deceased
former President during the 2-year period following the
date of the death of that President
‘(8) TERMINATION OF PROGRAM.—The issuance of coins
under this subsection shall terminate when each President
has been so honored, subject to paragraph (2)(E), and may
not be resumed except by an Act of Congress.
So perhaps they will skip Carter and end with Reagan.
-
I'm fairly sure the origional legislation said the program would end once they got to a living President.
That would make it end with Ford in 2016.

The mint blew it when the "golden dollar" was introduced. They went thru a short period where they were only available a Walmart checkout. Walmart made a big deal of the "Golden Dollars" and even limited them to one coin per person. It totally defeated the purpose. People looked at them as collectors items and didn't respend them. Some people actually thought they were made of gold!
Maybe if they partnered with someone like Walmart again but they remove the paper dollar bills and only give out the coins, unlimited.

dang I missed this.
I'm gonna say May 9th anyhow.

2016 will give us Nixon and Ford. When we get to Carter will they stop? Skip him and move on to Regan?
-
Happy Birthday Jeff!

Is she still on facebook?

All I've gotten recently were a few memorial cents and Game tokens.
My Grandson did dig a silver Rosey from under a machine last month.
-
I have to say no. There are less than 200 known 1990 no s proof cents known to exist and those were all found in unbroken sets. Besides that this coin just does not look to have a proof finish.
-
US quarter, Canadian dime, 4 Canadian cents.
It's become rare to find anything at all. My Grand daughter has much better luck digging under the machines.
-
It's kinda nasty lookin. Get a nicer one to keep.
-
Not in the ground and they sound like tin foil.
Got my first 2014 cent in early April.
-
One lone Memorial cent. :/ Too many people know the secret of the CoinStar reject slot.
-
My son in NYC just texted me a pic of a couple of Fort McHenry quarters.
-
-
Yes, but they are not going to become highly valuable. Even the 2013 which is the final year had a lot made, and people speculated on those but the mintage was high. Unless they are of the older series of George V or before they are mostly worth 1 cent.
2012
-
No, they aren't very rare or valuable. Unless the coins have a dot beside the date.
I realize that its just that with the cents being discontinued and pulled from circulation it wouldn't hurt to toss a few aside.
-
Canadian nickel and cent (should I start saving these?)
1940 Wheatie.

And a Happy NEW YEAR!!
-
My oldest son lives in NYC and comes home several times a year with a handful of his circulation finds. The Christmas bacth included 7 Wheaties, 2 1964 Quarters a '42P war nickel and a Bahamas 25 cent. Healso gave me a Hobo nickel (Bison carved into santa) that he bought off a street vendor.
Will Harriet Tubman be on the next $20 bill?
