  1. Djibouti P38d 5000 Francs Not Dated (1979)
  2. Fantastic addition to your collection!
  3. I finally got one of these that isn't a remainder! 1926 1000 Cash local banknote Yu Shueng Te
  4. Seems like this one took forever to get ahold of. There's one left in this series that I need now.
  5. Welcome Home! I hope you're back for a long time!!! You certainly have a great set of new notes going on there! It's always a treat to see what you've added.
  6. I don't really collect these, but for $1.99 USD for the set, I thought what the heck! De LaRue Test Notes - Identical on both sides
  7. I wonder if they really wore all those grapes on their ears?!? Must be an ancestor of the Princess Leia on Star Wars.
  8. Man, scrolling past those at just the right speed is like watching Japanese Animation... almost gives one a seizure! But they sure are awesome looking notes! Congrats on the latest aquisition
  9. Alright, this was an impulse buy. I simply had to have it. Though I had seen the front before, I had never seen the reverse until the other day. Something about it just had to be mine.
  10. I got a whole mess of notgeld lately, and I like the whole lot. Now I know these are about two cities grousing over Hamburg taking their milk and fruit, but today I was looking at one series in particular, and I thought - hey! Doesn't this have a resemblance to the creature from the black lagoon? and this one just reminds me of the Budweiser frogs! Made me wonder if Hollywood didn't have some notgeld collectors in their midst!
  11. Wow, that's weird to find a circulated note that wasn't supposed to be circulated. Wonder what it's story is?
  12. Got these nice guys in today. I really like the Jordan issue, even with the muted coloring.
  13. This one sailed into my mailbox today and discovered a safe port to stay.
  14. Received in today from Hong Kong, China this lovely note. It is a year 1926 2 Tiao from China - Changtung, Pingdu, Shui Chang Xiang .... Well, let's just say China.
  15. Indeed it is Swiss. Dates 1970. For a long time I had thought that it was depicting a warrior type scene, perhaps a fallen comrade, or a wounded foe, but it isn't. It turns out that this is a depiction of a generous act by St. Martin who, coming across a cold, shivering beggar, cut his cloak in half, along with a loaf of bread, and said 'this is all I have, but I will share it with you'. As far as I know the child on the front with a lamb is allegorical. There are two larger denomination notes in this series... I don't know that I will be able to afford them, or be able to find them. I've seen the 500 for sale once, but I have never seen the 1000 franc.
  16. That's primarily why I got it! Well, today I picked up the last that I had on order. It isn't in great shape, but it's getting harder to find these in XF or Better, so for now I'll be satisfied with this. (Should have got it earlier when they were more commonly seen).
  17. Well, after a bad week at work, when I came on Friday, I was surprised to find that all my ordered notes from separate dealers all came in… well, actually, one came in yesterday, but it was registered mail, so my wife went to the post office to get it for me. While she was gone, another registered mail notice was left on our door! So I still have to get that one tomorrow! Anyhow, I was very pleased to go over my new notes I’d been looking forward to getting - Especially as they are all notes I have been wanting for a while, but just not able to track them down.
  18. Got in a few Yemen and one Syria banknote today.
  19. Nice notes, De Orc! And congrat's on your first new notes!
  20. Got this Belgian note in today. Belgium 100 Francs/20 Belgas note P107(36) from 1943. It's a pretty big note - about 4.25 X 7.0 inches.
  21. Nice lot of notes there, Naidu - I think that Costa Rican 5 Colones note is a very popular design amongst most people. It was one I had to have too!
  22. Nice start! Are they all from the same country? You'll have to post them in Banknotebank.com too! Congratulations!
  23. Nice haul! I've always like Madagascar notes with their dual denominations in Francs and Ariary along with their designs of everyday activities.
  24. Well, that answer is an interesting story. Part of my search for it in UNC condition was also finding it in UNC condition at a reasonable price. I could find several in various other conditions for various prices, but none in XF/EF or UNC until about two weeks ago. Then I found one for sale but it was at twice the catalog price. While I understand that the catalog is only a 'ballpark' figure, I thought it a bit unreasonable, and thought I could wait a while and see. Then about one week later I stumbled onto this lovely note when looking for something else and it was priced at exactly what my catalog stated (and my catalog is one issue old) plus it was not an auction, but a direct sale... so I pounced on it! The seller stated that they had had several of these notes in the past, but never one in UNC ... so I think I may have actually done fairly well on this one.
  25. Well, this isn't much, but it took me a while to find it in UNC, so I'm glad to finally get it.
