  1. I need help to determine the quality of this coin. Its a 1903 Morgan Dollar, USA. It is in very great lusterous condition, but it has some scrathches on the cheek and toned/burned edges and a dot in the reverse. The picture is very bad, bit can it be AU55 or is it less?

  2. The Somali-Note is a fantasy piece! I understand these notes were produced in Canada. At first many of these notes appeared on the market, all unc. of course, and now the producer of the note has issued some specimens...

But it's in the World Paper Money catalog.

  3. Netherland Antilles coins should have been replaced by new dutch caribbean coins, since this dutch oversea territory split in different territories. Curaçao and Sint martin joined a new monetary union, that is still unborn...

I was talking about the old notes, they had their own money and were not independent. Im's sure that soon they are goning to make their new money, there's an article on wikipedia.

  4. These Nagorno-Karabakh notes were produced by a clever dealer to make some money...the Armenian government launched a protest and I heard that this dealer is no longer allowed to advertise for them on his website. These "notes" are mere phantasy notes, they were produced only for collectors. In Nagorny-Karabakh only thge normal Armenian money is circulating.

The look isn't real, but they have watermarked paper which is like official notes.

  5. In the Gaza they used the Egyptian pound until 1967, in the West Bank they used the Jordanian Dinar. There are so many political ramifications, but the main problem is that the Palestinians are too busy fighting the Palestinians ie Fatah vs. Hamas to make anything possible. But there is some mint in Europe that is making "Palestinian" dinar coins for collectors - they are on eBay all the time. Those coins have no official sanction though.

Is it like the Somaliland Titanic coin or the Motorcycle coins?

  6. Well, how about the most interesting of them all then, Taiwan?

I have one of their coins, but no notes, sadly. And on that note, does Palestine (PLO or whatever their governemnt is called) issue money? I have Palestine stamps, but it probably is from the British mandate period.

  7. Being from India, that could have applied to me (ethics of collections related to oppressing regimes) collecting British currency and especially British (and Portuguese) Indian currency. As I said, from a collecting point of view it still is an important area.

I have Nazi money (5 RM 1941) but not because I support their policies or regime but because it is from an important time period. Also it features the ideal Nazi, blond haired and blu eyes. I guess most people collect them as a curiousity, like when a dictator or regime falls.

  8. This cannot be a serious statement. Where are you looking? Many dealers have them. And especially on ebay, there are tons of both.

I don't trust it very much. And where I am there aren't many coin dealers.
