silver bullion coins go in the NCLT category.
Not bullion, billion. It's a mix of silver and other metals that aren't valuable, like alloys.
-
Where do you classify silver billon coins?
-
I'll have to get pictures for mine, but I can do it.
-
It can be a very rare unaligned coin or a cheap. The biggest issue that I have is that it has almost no worn out parts, it reminds me of the old Chinese dollar copies. I'm not expert in Japanese coins though, it's what I think.

Simon Bolivar, he was dicator and president in various South American states.
100 Sucres Ecuador 1990
1000 Bolivares Venezuela 1998
200 Pesos Colombia 1980
-
We should try a dictators/leaders category.
-
It's a beautiful coin, and the portrait is excellent conditon. How do you find great ancients like this?
-
Have to wait until 1519 for me to participate, then I drop to 1516 and after that all the way down to 1226 and 1034.
Hope you guys can go that far.
It's difficult to get that far. I only have a Indian coin of 1180 and after 4th century Roman coins. Most of the coins that I have are of the start of 20th century.

The most exciting news: I sent a pictoral depiction of the set to The Queen, including texts and pictures of my grandmother, who resembled The Queen when she was alive, and have received a very nice reply from one of Her Majesty's Ladies-in-Waiting on Buckingham Palace sationary, stating ...the Queen wishes me to express her thanks for your kind words and was very interested to see the depiction of your collection. She was especially interested to hear about and to see the pictures you sent of your Grandmother...Her Majesty hopes you will continue enjoying your coin collecting and wishes you her very best regards.
If I complete my collection of dictators notes, I don't think Saddam or Al-Assad would send to me a congratulations message.

First President of Zambia, Kenneth Kaunda on 50 Kwacha banknote
I wish you a happy new year! And full of great acquisitions!
I got the Kenneth Kuanda 50 note, and now I got Ho Chi Minh on 200 dong and Saddam on 5 dinars, but the crappy ones of after the gulf war.

I only collect 25c / quarters, and it's getting a bit out of hand. I mean, there's over 100 different types that can be encountered in circulation between the two countries.
I didn't complete the State quarters collections yet and there's still the Vancouver olympics quarters and now National Parks and only have 2.

I like to get the silver ones, but it's more pricey. Ont that I like a lot is a $20 proof with a lighthouse, the quality is impecable on it.
-
I like the ones of Canada, they have nice pictures.
-
Does anyone collect commemorative coins, in particularly modern ones? I like to get the ones of Canada and United States.

The issue of Price and Rainbow Tone is one for another thread...I wouldn't pay more for one but I know some would,,,if the coin is also otherwise valuable, it might fetch a slightly higher price..rainbow tone on a common penny or one in poor shape wouldn't fetch more than 1 cent I would think.
Toning can be more worth, but usually for only silver coins and many people will pay because of how nicely looking it is. And also it can help assure that the coin is old and authentic.

Its probably a replica, but in Italy in the renaisance, they made coins and medals in ancient styles.
-
Yes, but also I wanted to place notes in the contest.
-
We need to try another contest for 2013!

My last trip there was in 2005 and 2006 before our base at Manta closed (and moved to Aruba...) They did circulate some of their own coins too, but all the currency was US (ditto Panama and El Salvador IME)
Yes, their coins are =to U.S. dollars. My father was also in El Salvador and they only had their own coins, but were valued in U.S. dollars.
-
When I was staying in Ecuador, where US$ is legal tender, everyone used the new US dollar coins. They imported something like 100,000,000 of them.
The Zims should do the same.
I was in Ecuador many years ago, and they used their own coins, of 5, 25, 50 centavos of the date "año 2000" but I don't know if still is used.

wow, it looks like Abe is smoking! But that is strange.

Benvenuti, welcome to Coinpeople.

It's a good site, but I don't speak Italian, Portuguese and Spanish only.
