  1. Well here is a new Reverse toned Morgan I pick up at the Clearwater show yesterday...not a monster but a nice rainbow reverse.... 1887 Morgan
  2. Here is another example that illustrates that you don't have to spend a fortune to get monster color! I purchased this coin off Ebay for $10 whole dollars......the picture show a completely black coin but the description described Pink/Purple etc. So $10 was worth the chance that it might actually be a colorful coin. PCGS PR67
  3. Been waiting for this for a while...slow shipper, but I love the piece!!! 1896 Push Out Morgan
  4. Here is a coin I picked up at a show this year for $40.........it is 100% NT all day long, but it doesn't have typicall toning so others passed on the coin. The coin is worth a minimum of $200-$250 so it was a real bargain!!!! If you know what you are looking for then you have nothing to fear from raw color coins......the problem is you have to look at a lot of coins to know what to look for
  5. There are a lot of things that could and would make a Silver coin tone. Figure that the suit has been washed at some point so it's been exposed to chemicals.....if a coin is left in a pocket and is exposed to those chemicals for a long enough period of time ....then throw into the mix heat...whether it be body heat or the a person wearing a black suit in the mid day sun...............and you have all of the elements needed to tone a coin!!! Short answer...Yes it could!!!
  6. Looks NT to me and I have some experience in this area, but honestly...without seeing the coin in hand.....it is very difficult to tell for sure. I had a PCGS 1896 that looked just like that coin on both sides and it was legit so........
  7. This one is just a solid color coin...very clean for a 65 and that clean blue cheek is amazing in hand!!!
  8. Let's see what we can come up with for today.......how about this monster: I have never seen a nicer Modern Proof Dime.....this coin is Neon in hand!!!!
  9. I hope your taking little ole Eric to Chuck E Cheese or something?? Happy Birthday big guy
  10. I hope your taking little ole Eric to Chuck E Cheese or something?? Happy Birthday big guy
  11. Anything with a date ....for me as well.....I have Polish coins from the 1500's and I have moderns....and then of course everything in between
  12. The only one I onw.....D & H 102 I'll have to find an Image of the other side......
  13. Holy smokes....that would be any collectors dream come true.......I would love to get to examine that set in person
  14. I didn't start out with monsters and hey...they look nice to me!!! I'll show you my twins since your reminded me of a pair I recently purchased from two seperate dealers!!! Dates almost match yours Both "O" mints.... The left coin is an 1885-O NGC MS63* The Right coin is an 1884-O NGC MS64
  15. You have no idea...here is what it looks like in hand when you tilt it just a tad bit.......never ever seen Silver like that on a copper coin....
  16. Just added another beauty to my Proof IHC collection....I hope you enjoy!!!
  17. I don't see no stinkin Morgans man......so I'll just have to post another to intice others to join in the fun!!!! This is my favorite Morgan in my collection.....the coin is semi prooflike and the colors look like liquid on the coins surface.......it's a real knockout in hand!!!
  18. First of all I would like to thank the fine folks that voted for this thread and awarded it the POTW (Post of the Week Award) Almost forgot to add another coin for today...... How about a nice Mercury Dime.....certainly a classic design and one of the most popular in US history. These little gems are tough to find with rainbow toning and normally command stiff premiums if you do run across one. I had to photo this one at some weird angles to capture the colors...but this baby is raw. I wouldn't recommend jumping into raw toned coins right off the bat as their is just tons of Artificially Toned Garbage out there especially on Ebay.
  19. How about a Carson City coin for today...... PCGS 1884-CC MS64
  20. I'll dig out a picture of the other one for tomorrow or the next day. I have tons of Morgans and IHC's...but very few of the rest of the denominations.........you know the old saying money doesn't grow on trees
  21. Yes they can....prior to FUN 2006 I had never spent more than $300 dollars on a coin........I have stepped up big time since then but it shows that a lot of growth can occur in a short amount of time. Toners can be purchased on a budget and maybe I will start a thread on some of the coins and series to go after if you want a lot of color for cheap!!! For today's coin...let me present a real bargain as proof that color doesn't have to mean $$$$$$: This beauty was purchased off Ebay for a whopping $42 bucks!!! Sure the picture did not do the coin justice but when you get use to looking at crappy pictures....you start to see what might actually be there!!! The coin is undergraded at an MS62..it's a sold 63*....but I just haven't sent it in for a regrade. So keep an eye out on Ebay and you can some time cherry pick some nice coins
  22. Now I wouldn't want to dissapoint.....I only have a couple.....but they're sweet coins..... 1885-O NGC MS65
