  3. I plan on doing some roll searching this break. I have one burning question for the roll searchers out there: What is the best combination of rolls to get for a given amount of money? In other words, suppose I want to only spend $20. Should I get 1 roll of quarters, 1 roll of dimes, 2 rolls of nickels, and 2 rolls of pennies? What combinations do you sort through/recommend? After Xmas I may shell out for more than $20 giving me more options. Thanks, George

    Barber Dime

Barber Coin Collectors' Society Great for grading and other information.
  5. Anyone know a good encyclopedia on this series? Thanks, George Maybe one day someone will peruse this thread AND know that answer.
  6. Ooh! 1949-S nickel found in brother's pocket change. It's in good hands now. I need it for my album.
  7. Too big a head for the coin. i'd rather flip an old standing lib to a teller. It seems perfect for the size of the coin.
  8. Kindly requesting an update to this thread. Thanks, George

  10. Ahh!! I really want to see these pics but I think the forum is outdated and the pics aren't attached anymore!
  11. Coronet just seems so right for a coin that size and of that denomination.
  12. Oh! I see the brass now. The observatory is my favorite place to visit in London. I'm a geography nut.
  13. Does someone mind resurrecting this contest? I don't have enough variety to do it myself. It's a great idea! I apologize if it does exist somewhere.
  14. I don't know the words to describe it, but I love the effect on the Queen. The nickels are great too. Do you mean that coin is made of brass? And what do you mean from the original meridian? Did they rip up the marker and melt it?
  15. Please put him in the "Grading Challenge" forum to see how many of us agree with the slab!
  16. As a man of methods and efficiency: date and mint collection by series. In coins: -My Peace collection is nearly complete save for some high quality keys. -My MS/PF65+ Walker collection is in its early stages. It takes a few hundred dollars just to add each coin. This is a series I persue when the other series are slowed down. -I recently began an interest in a better grade (but still affordable) Barber dime series as well as the same in V nicks. -Completing as much of my whitman albums from circulation is a goal. In notes: -My $1 silver certificate has covered a lot of ground. The series involves: 1923-1957, all signatures, all letters (A,B,C,D...), all design modifications, all experimentals, all seals, all stars, and anything else you can find in the Black Book. The only notes of the 50+ note series I need are some very hard to find ones easily in the $500+ range in an acceptable condition. Silver certificates mean a lot to me because I was with my father when he found one in change a couple years back, he told me what they were, and I thought of them as an exciting, affordable series with its own challenging notes to persue. I will add to this collection by going to earlier years and other denominations. Mark my words, by the time I am 30, I hope to have one of the nicest and most complete silver certificate collections ever. It's possible. -I will start another series of US notes once I figure out which is worth my time and money (both very valuable and scarce to me). Any suggestions? Thats about it. Nothing too exciting. You asked, so I told.
  17. Hey, is the Final going to be posted sometime soon or am I just looking in the wrong place? Also, why does it list August 26, 2006 as the date you posted this topic? Sorry for the dumb questions.
  18. Totally forgot it was there! Anywho, I did see a lot of other fancy pieces around. Some of the currency stuff was mouth-watering.
