    Barber Dime

Barber Dime Pattern Judd-1760, Pollock-1974 No difference between this and issued design. Only one known. References: Judd's 1959 United States Pattern, Experimental, and Trial Pieces, USPatterns.com
  6. One of two known examples of this variety. This piece went for $52,900 in mid-2004.
  7. All pics from Heritage Auction archives. All information from Heritage Auctions and Dr. J. Hewitt Judd's "United States Pattern, Experimental and Trial Pieces" - 1959 edition. I will do my best to add additional information and varieties but given my resources, this is the best I can do. I'm using this series and others to build my pattern collecting knowledge. One day I'll have these coins and other magnificent alternative designs.

  11. I plan on doing some roll searching this break. I have one burning question for the roll searchers out there: What is the best combination of rolls to get for a given amount of money? In other words, suppose I want to only spend $20. Should I get 1 roll of quarters, 1 roll of dimes, 2 rolls of nickels, and 2 rolls of pennies? What combinations do you sort through/recommend? After Xmas I may shell out for more than $20 giving me more options. Thanks, George

  13. Anyone know a good encyclopedia on this series? Thanks, George Maybe one day someone will peruse this thread AND know that answer.
  14. Ooh! 1949-S nickel found in brother's pocket change. It's in good hands now. I need it for my album.
  15. Too big a head for the coin. i'd rather flip an old standing lib to a teller. It seems perfect for the size of the coin.
  16. Kindly requesting an update to this thread. Thanks, George
