Dave
Wow, getting there Dave. How many more Colonial do need? Iran 1953 10 Rial Well I'm almost halfway - waiting for one to arrive via mail. Then that's about it for the "cheap" ones. I'll have to save up and shop around a lot more for the others. They can get kind of pricey. Nice Iranian note! The back it very cool.

Dave
Well this is my latest colonial that the postman brought by today. Thought I'd have to wait until next week... I will have to wait about another month before I can start thinking about getting one of the next colonials on my list. North Carolina - The back is stamped I.ASHE but the I stands for J. It was John Ashe, who was the printer, and quite involved in the revolutionary cause early on.

Dave
Nice note, MMMM - Perhaps it's an early version of the Red Bull energy drink logo? haha Per your question, the small vignette is of a bear. Ursa Minor depicted together with the constellation. The different denominations of this particular issue had different vignettes of them - likely for ease of identification an as a primitive counterfeiting technique.
