  4. I saw an archived topic elsewhere here, closed to further comment. This one still seems to be open. The archived topic mentioned that just 17 of the 50 cent token are known. As more information has become available, so has the number increased. My current database has 69 examples, 41 of them with images. My estimate of the total number extant, spread across all seven denominations, is probably not more than 1,100. Total mintage assumed is 21,000, but may be very slighly less as I have not sighted any of the ten cent token below serial number 281, so far. All other denominations have a lowest serial number in single or low double digits. Once I get very close to my estimate of those still existing, I shall publish my database (964 at present).
  5. I bid on Katz a couple times and did not like the way their system works. Then after a long while I bid again, but did not notice the item was a COPY and emailed them asking to cancel the auction win since I made a mistake. No reply. They sent me an invoice to pay. Then many days later I received another invoice from KATZ Auction with a single item win which I must have bid on while half asleep and I would pay for it, but between the time I bid and the time they sent me an invoice there was not a single message about that congratulations you have won etc. etc. Nothing. I do not like the way their system is set up. They also tried to charge me some extra amounts that I did not recognize. All in all, as many other auctions, I do not like Katz auctions. They keep on emailing me almost daily so I sometimes cave in and bid on something, but I really shouldn't. Also I believe auctions should not list copy or reproductions or replicas even if the description states that it's a replica, reproduction or a copy. And when Katz Auction sends me an invoice, there's nothing of reference to the won item, no link, nowhere to go to look it up, and its photo. Then I look under my account and it's not there either.
  6. maybe $2 to $5 in current condition but that is a guess

  12. Found this coin, dated 2008. Researched the coin and everywhere states it was only minted in 2007. Can anyone help identify how many 2008 £1 Millennium Bridge coins were minted?
  13. Earlier
  14. Has anyone got an answer as to why this nickel is so messed up? Is it common? And is it worth anything?
  15. Isn't it fascinating how limited the world's physical gold supply is? With just 0.003 parts per million in the Earth's crust, it's incredibly rare. Have you considered a Gold IRA as a hedge against this scarcity?
  16. been handled too much, dirt, grime and such gets on the coin and has been there for sometime and has eaten into the metal so what you see is the coin rusting as for the red color i'd gather some sort of reaction to something it was exposed to
  17. called post mint damage not a mint error
