jtryka
I figure since we are having so much fun grading the Indian Half Eagle, I would go for a 3-piece half eagle type set. So here is grading challenge #2, an 1899 Liberty Half Eagle. Guess the grade and provide your reasons and I will let you know NGC's opinion later in the week. 1899 Obverse 1899 Reverse
gpnyc
Nice piece. No rub so its definitely uncirculated. Super clean fields but IMO has a few too many marks for a 64. I'll say MS-63.
Guest Stujoe
That is a nice coin! I would say 63 or 64. Although if I was just going to grade the reverse, I would say 65 or 66!

jtryka
This is a very nice example of a Liberty half eagle, which I traded for with a dealer in the Seattle area, though I can't remember what I traded. This one NGC graded as MS-63 which I feel is appropriate.
