I'll be kicking off the submission threads for BCPI 2H05 this weekend. I'd like to have at least 20 entries in each catagory. I know that sounds like a lot of entries but we can do it.

I've been thinking about the catagories we should use. I'd really like some suggestions.

I was considering:

Hammered Coins

Milled Coins pre-xxxx

Copper

Silver

Gold

Other

Non-circulation Coins

HELP?????????????

Art, do you really think you can get that many coins right now?

I mean, we only have a little over 100 people back at last check (108) and, if I recall, there was a bit of a shortage of entries last time.

If that made any sense, then how 'bout the same categories for now ... Gold, Silver, Copper and Other. Might get enough coins with less categories.

I agree that it's early for this with the number of folks we have. I'm trying to set the stage and get a more longterm thing going. I figured if we got people submitting and did periodic updates/requests maybe by the end of summer we'd be ready to run the competition. If you all think it's too early, I'll hold off.

Nah ... I think we should go for it :ninja:

I wasn't thinking "long term" yet, but that makes sense.

I assume it's a no-no to submit a previous winner ;)

To the contrary. I hope all of the previous winners are submitted. It sort of sets the bar and gives the challenge. "Can you beat this?" kind of thing.
