MauMauNotes
i was thinking about opening a thread about those SETS you (well me!) really wish they were REDESIGNED because GRAPHICALLY POOR or NOT AS nice as that Country History-Art (etc) well one Country Set I CANNOT REALLY LIKE (and i wish it was much more nicer than the one in use is) RUSSIA i just CAN'T digest the style, what about you ? (ofcourse the Euro Currency is one of the Top in the list too, design style + country own style killing)
Scottishmoney
I don't like the Euro notes, nor their kissing cousins like the new Danish notes with you guessed it - bridges. The new Azerbaijani notes have the same Euro look to them. Very uninspired.
Dave
I agree with the above and add the modern issues of China and Japan (Too bland - and they have so much historical reference and culture to draw from), Saudi Arabia (poor portrait and back design), Azerbaijan (too boring and Euro-like), Finland's last issue (The Euro is actually better!) There are surely others, but these top my charts.
cemars
Well... That's why I try to collect from 40-60's as much as possible...
gxseries
Greenback from the 50 - 90s and before. Color was dull, security was poor plus it was heavily counterfeited. The Russian banknotes at least had proper security features.

These were still circulating when I was there in 2006, but quickly being replaced by the Mao notes: I have the whole typeset up to the 100 Yuan, one of the most attractive issues ever in China. Too bad they were replaced with that pickled former premier.
ccg
While the Chinese minorities set is great, the back of the 1990 2 (litho?) is kind of a trainwreck compared to the original 1980 issue.

Scottishmoney
any country that has the same person on each bill China replaced the minorities with the Chairman Mao. All Mao, all day. Same with South Sudan.
DreamFLight911
China replaced the minorities with the Chairman Mao. All Mao, all day. Same with South Sudan. Current series for Singapore is the same. The Orchid, Bird and ship series were better I like the Philippine Notes very seldom you get National Parks on banknotes
