Alustor
hello there,i just got 2 old roman coins but I'm not sure of the value they have(i did found over the internet a couple of prices) and I wish if someone knows to tell me an apox selling price for them.thanks the smaller one is a provincial bronze from Caracalla(Marcus Aurelius Antoninus) made at Stobi, the capital of the roman province Macedonia Salutaris(A.D. 161-180) and the bigger one is a AE sestertius of HADRIAN(Publius Aelius Traianus Hadrianus)(A.D. 122-125),from Rome
jlueke
They aren't in the best condition so I'd say $20 for the provincial, and around $100 for the sestertius unless that's a rare type.
KoRnholio
I quite like the portrait on the Hadrian sestertius, I bought one very similar to it at the last coin show I attended.
jlueke
The style of the portrait is good but it looks like it's been cleaned past the patina and there's still corrosion holes. It's definitely still collectible just not at the same price as a clean example. A lot of these are getting smoothed and tooled these days. Benz Gemz
I agree with $20 for the Stobi, the Sestertius I would put at about $85 because of the overcleaning, but if you are patient you should be able to get $100. If auctioning it I'd probably start at $60.
