Scientists have "IST", as in Physicist, Chemist, etc. OLOGY is more with Astrology and Scientology, or things medical (but coins do no apply to that). I'll call myself a Numismatologist from now on. I think "numismatist" is someone who studies coins but "numismatologist" is someone who studies numismatics and coin collectors. Just like "musicology", "psychology", "sociology".
