Art
In 1962 the ANA and the CNA held a joint convention in Detroit. This is the medal issued to commemorate the convention. It is one of my favorite designs. The obverse with the split eagle/maple leaf is in my opinion one of the finest graphic representations of the a joint event that I have ever seen. This medal is bronze and 41mm in diameter. It was issued in bronze, silver, and gold. 1000 Bronze serial numbered medals were issued as were 200 non serial numbered bronze. This medal is a non-serial numbered medal. I have both types in my collection. There were also 1000 serial numbered silver medal issued. There was a single gold medal issued. It was presented to Eva Adams, Superintendent of the US Mint, by Medallic Arts Inc.
