gxseries
Yeah it doesn't look pretty. Ask for a refund where possible.
RW Julian
Got this on eBay. Just had a closer look, and it don't look good.Opinions welcomed! I agree with gxseries. It is a definite fake. The word KOPECKS on the reverse, among other points, is badly done and the spacing is all wrong. RWJ

alexbq2
Thanks, I compared to my 1894. When I first looked at it, I felt that the eagle had a very surprised look on his left face. Closer inspection made me think that the rim was too thin and disjointed from the rest of the coin. The edge looks nice. So I guess that it was created separately and then attached to the coin? I would think that it is die struck and the edge lettering done separately. The edge is not "attached," however, merely the result of being put into a device that adds the edge lettering. It is interesting to note that the edge denticles on the reverse are of differing sizes, the mark of an incompetent forger. RWJ

Could that occur if the “coin” is die struck?
