Still a great buy though The Newfoundland series really hasn't gotten much numismatic love, especially considering that they all have low mintages. Their $2 gold coins and key dates do okay, but still low considering their rarity. Like the 2,041 !! mintage 1946C 5 cent that lists at ~$500 in VG. ASUtodd Posted February 18, 2009 Author Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 I'm going to go with closer to AU... reason being is that on the crown rim the small jewels are still there with no wear... kinda hard to see on the picture... but if you blow it up you can make them out... heck they are hard to see with coin in hand! Regardless they are there and are the VERY fist things to go on this type of coin.... You are right though, these coins are way under appreciated!
