vasil
Hi, I have a question about the 1847 rouble. Banivechi said me that the dies were changed in this year. In fact I observed this modification from 1847 MW to 1847 PA as you can see in the pictures: http://www.geocities.com/gemaria_ro/rubel471.html http://www.geocities.com/gemaria_ro/rubel472.html My question is if there are roubles 1847 PA with the old design? And how many tipes/mints are for this year? Thanx
gxseries
The top coin picture looks very wrong from my first impression but I can be mistaken.
banivechi
The top coin seems to be a Warsaw mint, and the second Sankt Petersburg (Pavel Alekseev). Welcome here vasil! About the design varieties, maybe our coleagues can provide more informations...

And how many tipes/mints are for this year? Thanx The eagle hubs used at St. Petersburg and Warsaw were not the same. Each mint prepared its own dies from hubs on hand. In 1847, for example, Warsaw used two different eagle hubs for the rouble while St. Petersburg had three. RWJ
