Gabrielle Roy (1909-1983) The $10 note features the first verse of John McCrae's poem, "In Flanders Fields", and its French adaptation, Au champ d'honneur, by Jean Pariseau "In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
