Blackhawk
I have a small bag of loose ancient coins and these three have enough detail (I hope) to identify them. All three are bronze. Can anyone help me out? 1) The first is about 19mm in diameter. 2) The second is 15mm in diameter. 3) The last is 16-17mm in diameter.
ccg
1. Roman Empire FEL TEMP REPARATIO ="happy times have returned" Soldier spearing fallen enemy horseman Mintmark: BSIRM - Sirmium Mint, 2nd officina/workshop looks like Constantius II circa 350s AD 2. Roman Empire founding of Constantinople commemorative Victory holding shield on prow of ship / personification of Constantinopolis circa 330s AD 3. [as #1. can't make out legends, but for some reason I'm thinking this one is Constantius Gallus] Given the pitting and previous owner's harsh cleaning, I'd say $5 each retail value. Since it's past my bedtime, I haven't dug out the books to check on what I wrote above. I'll get back to check unless someone beats me to it. Victor
Coin number three is Constantius II. It can't be Gallus because there are wreath ties behind the bust, and Gallus is always bareheaded on FEL TEMP's. The M on the reverse means this coin was minted in Arles.
