Mark Stilson Posted May 30, 2007 Report Share Posted May 30, 2007 I found a doubled P mint mark. The camera I have won't get a good enough shot of it to post here. I tried some combinations of searches on google but after several pages it just got to far away from what I was looking for. Any body know if there was a repunched mint mark or double die that year? LostDutchman Posted May 30, 2007 Report Share Posted May 30, 2007 I think that the mint changed that process in 1996 or 1997 from the hand stamped mint marks to actually designing them into the hubs...therefore eliminating RPMs.... so I think your hunch about mechanical doubling would be the right one.
