bobh
Would someone please enlighten me as to how this coin got graded as MS-60? 1862 silver trime, PCGS MS-60 (???) Assuming that the rim disturbances are in the slab and not lamination on the coin, I find it hard to believe that the mushy look of the devices is only due to a weak strike. Is it common for this type?
sbvenman
The silver three cent pieces are known for their weak strikes, and if you look at the rim it doesn't look very worn. However, I still don't think it deserves anything above EF.
Scottishmoney
It looks like a very weak strike in a cr@ppy slab. It probably is correctly graded given the weak strike, but in my opinion is not a desirable coin with that weakness.
thedeadpoint
Agree with SM. But that is a coin that should receive the Pathetic Looks Award. It makes me cry.
bahabully
Horrible. TPG's need a new rating scale at the MS level for such weak strike crap as this.... maybe MS45. IMO, if a coin doesn't have enough detail to meet a specific grade then it souldn't be represented as that grade,,, maybe classify these as error's ?
