peete82
Seems like many fake Russian gold coins are coming from Israel. I suggest not to buy ANYTHING from there. Surprise for me is, that they are faking even 5 Roubles, usual years, like 1897. Here is one, fake on left: And here is one, fake on right:
bobh
Very scary! The 1904 coin is especially deceptive. Is the obverse of that coin one of the other pictures you posted? Did you weigh these? Thanks for sharing these with us!
WCO
And why assumption that those are fake coins? WCO
peete82
1904 had also wrong letters on edge, AG, not AP. Letters on obverse are thicker than on original. Colour is wrong, too yellow. This coin was also much thicker than original. This one on right side is original. 1897 - must be blind, not to see that this is fake coin on right side. Original is on left side on photo. The seller took back 1904, then sent me this 1897 for exchange. He is arguing of course that these both are originals. Typical ...
gxseries
Obviously counterfeit if you look carefully at the edge and dentricles. 1897 5 rubles seem to be a cast and the 1904 ruble seems to be epoxy copy or some sort. I think I posted some old articles about such counterfeits but they are 10 rubles, not 5 rubles. I'll have to search them when I have the time. ccg
1904 is quite good, I must say. Not so for the 1897 though.

gxseries
Pete, it's better that you take this case up to ebay and let them settle it. This doesn't look too good I'm afraid
