Got few new things today, some currency as well, but I'll have to image that later. First off: I think this is a half penny, not really sure, never owned one of this type before. A brilliant Unc 1 Kreuzer, it may be brown, but it still shimmers bright! A pretty nice 1860 large penny, best one I've owned so far. And finally another Funf mark, 1914.

I find it amusing that he has boxes of "1 billion dollars" worth of these, 10 total, 10 billion dollars equals 100,000 notes, which is well over the actual about printed, lol. At least you know where to find fakes/copies of them!

Thanks Jeff, I eventually wanted to upgrade my note collection to uncs anyway, so I guess this will just be that extra push. Besides I already have the black eagle in unc, and that's one of the harder ones, so why not right? I'm about to list a bunch of stuff for sale here to help with this little venture, lol. Hopefully I can sell it all without resorting to eBay. Mainly a lot of silver, and a ms indian....anyone in the market?

I'm looking for a Unc, maybe not Ch Unc, but a white unfolded, unstained unc, for around that. The lower grade ones, Vf-XF seem to draw the crowds, while the uncs are pretty much one bid one win kinda deal. I've lost by 5-15 dollars on every single note so far, which really urked me. So that's why I'm trying for a better note, it will be better to own in the long run anyway.

That's how I am with the one dollar notes lately. That dang green eagle has slipped through my fingers again though, I lost 3 separate auctions to the same friggin guy tonight for some nice Vf+ ones. Feh! I think I'm just going to sell some stuff and buy an Unc and be done with it, lol.

Jeesh Jeff, what is that, your 20th bust half this year? Haha, you could start selling them by the roll soon!

Like Art, I have quite a few of these, and I have a nice little pile of queen Victoria ones as well, which the (Matron head I think it's called) is the one I like the most, the last design before George the V appeared on them. I love the ones in P1-G4 and then only in Bu, there is something about heavy wear on them that makes them rather interesting and very nice to hold.

You guys have to hate me after this week, lol. I found a rim clipped 1909 wheatback, no VDB, no S, but a 09, and clipped, and in change! This is interesting though, the clip looks like a knock on the front, but on the reverse the rim is complete, but missing part of the INSIDE rim, very strange.

Well, I didn't get a chance to image them yet, but I picked up a 1,5,10 (2 different types), and a 20 Thailand Baht from the dealer at the market today. His notes are a buck each, which at times is a little much depending what they are, but he always takes a little off so lessen the blow, lol.

Mine are all common stuff, so it's really only the 30's-58 but there are some stray 20's and maybe a few teens as well. I did separate them into decades in earlier dates and individual dates for later years, so I have a few partial rolls. When I got them they were obviously searched through for anything highly valuable though, then again any "unsearched" penny hoards have been unless you know exactly who owned them for the last 50 years, lol. My grandpa has about $100 face in rolls of silver coins and wheatbacks, indian heads, morgan dollars and so on in a safe from when he owned a service station that he lost the key for 15-20 years ago, so those I know those at least are unsearched, lol. Someday when he either finds the key, or has it cracked, I know what I'll be doing for a few hours, lol.

Man, and here I am selling mine for 1.25 a roll, lol. If you're looking for bulk wheaties, online can cost so much more than local shops because of shipping. And most won't ship in $9 bulk boxes because they don't have them on hand. I on the otherhand love those things, it's a great way to ship large amounts of anything.

Only is all my large sized notes could be purchased for 2-3 times face, in that condition, lol.

I know what you mean by the money and time thing. That's why I limited myself to 1899-current and only a type set. (except for the small sized FRN's, I am getting all the years as well) I would like to but together a $1 type set for all types of them, but a lot of the large sized notes bring choice prices, so that is the "I hit the lottery" collection, lol. I like the fives as well, but I don't have the money to jump into that moreso than what I already own. And anything more than what I purchased years ago in 10's and up are just way to much for me right now. Getting sig combos, series, stars, dates, and all that for all Silver Certificates is a REALLY big challenge. I was impressed when I heard you were going to undertake it, most people, like myself just go for an example of each and that's that. I would really like to see your collection whenever it's uploaded! As for me, for the most part my banknotebank is up to date except all my Non-US notes which I am working on currently.

Thanks, now all I need are a few FRN's from the 70's-90's and I have all the dates as well. Then if I really get ambitious I'll work on series, and sig combos. Also the R&S experimental Silver certs and web press notes have to be aquired at somepoint. I see you're doing well with your collection as well, that 1928 E is a pretty hard note, much more than the red seal 28. Nice star as well!

Just remember some of those polymer notes have a rather high exchange rate, as they are being used all over the world right now. Most can be had for less than $20 even with exchange rates compared to US funds. I guess it also depends on the part of the world you're in. I really love the designs on Zambian Kwachas, and the exchange rate is next to nothing (nearly 4,000 Kwacha per 1 USD), but because I'm in the US it's nearly impossible to get a pack of 100 polymers at a good price, so I only own one 500 and one 1000, and they were a few bucks for the pair. If I was closer to Africa, I could probably get them for 5-20 times face or so, which I'd still be happy about. Now, as for new notes. Thanks to Bill I now own this little guy, last one I needed for my $1 type set! And I got these pretty cheap just recently. I really like the notes from Thailand, I need to find a good source to purchase some more! Anyone?

I paid $11 and some odd change And the 2 and 4 reale, I also only paid $11 for the pair. A few months ago I also picked up 2 half reales, one was the pillar type, and the other was the (I forget his name) guys head. The pillar type was holed, but I still got it because it was only $3 for each. On occasion I do get some good deals, off ebay or from dealers, it kinda all depends how patient I am.
