  1. Okay busy day. First group of the mint sets. 1968 1969 1970 large date 1971
  2. Looking thru my coins I noticed a hole on pictures. 1994 since I did not take any pictures of my proof or mint set and upload. Decided to rummage thru my coin jar and find a 1994.
  3. The mark on the reverse appears to be a hit mark. Under magnification it appears to have a slight rise around it. As to acid I'm not sure, but against a new nickel its real close to half the thickness. So I'm not real sure but it does not seem like that much metal removed by acid would leave any lettering. Also just noticed the picture may not be the best possible on color. The reverse picture appears a little green on my monitor but actually is the same gray as the obverse.
  4. Thank you very much for the links. From the minterrornews link I found a possibility. It looks like it could be a El Salvador 5 centavos. I'll try to get some info on its weight and size to see if they match.
  5. A duplicate year and mint mark, but a unmarked at the dealer VAM 12 gator eye.
  6. 1957 D Nickel struck on unknown planchet. It has a slightly smaller diameter and thinner then normal nickel. I assume its struck on a foreign coin planchet. Just don't have any clue to what planchet it would have come from. Any ideas what countries the mint was running coins for at the time?
  7. A 1957 D nickel struck on unknown planchet. Slightly smaller diameter and thinner then a normal nickel. Another 99 cent pick up 1984 1988 Russian rouble novodel
  8. This is a duplicate year / mint but it was in a PCGS green rattler $30 under redbook and a Vam 4. Die gouge in Wreath. 1897 S Also a 99 cent pick up from ebay. Same Local dealer so no shipping just tax on it. 1995 Russian Rouble with case.
  9. Actually more my photography skills.
  10. These have been dribbling in over the last week and a half. I waited till all made it. 5 mint sets. 1980 mint set 1981 mint set 1984 mint set
  11. I am using a Standard Catalog of world coins by Chester Krause and Clifford Mishler 1979 edition The picture appears to be dead on. All the writing and designs match. BTW the top one is marked "Chuckram One" not "One Chuckram".
  12. The one from India appears to a 1927 to 1928 Travencore Chuckram. (From my world coin book.)
  13. Lower grades are tough sometimes. Different id'ing points may not show up. I love looking thru a group of ms range coins. Even common dates. I don't bring a vam book just my redbook. But I always bring my loupe an look for common signs of vams. (Doubles, shifted mint marks, clashes, gouges, etc.) If there are two of the same year but one has an oddity. I'll get the odd one. Really vams are pretty common since there were several dies used each year and mint. One shop I go to has a pretty wide range of coins and if I really look I'll find at least one.
  14. Still marking date/types off the redbook A 1900 O over O over CC I'm not absolutely sure which one but I believe it to be a 1900-O VAM-8A O/O/CC Centered, Shifted Left with Rust Spots, Near Date
  15. Dropping in the bulk silver bin another Egyptian pound. 1970 Al-Azhar Mosque 1000 year Anniversary Doing a big upgrade from my ag 1878 cc A 1878-CC VAM-2 Die Chip on Nose, Doubled LIBERTY with a circle die crack.
  16. 2 - 2000 P sacawagea dollars. Thing is they look like the were freshly broken out of rolls.
  17. Working on year/mints on the morgans I already have a 1882 O over S but this is just a standard 1882 O And a 1883 S Slight doubling reverse at "America". Kind of a tough year.
  18. I like the color on the rappen also.
