I was wondering if anyone have auction catalogs containing russian coins and medals and also specialized ones in russian coins and might want htem to be trade or get red of it, pls write to my PM.
Specialized auction catalog can be for example - Irving Goodman collection of russian coinage by Superior Galleries coins & stamps, by the way known as card and hard bound edition.
Also, some might have numismatic books covering russian coins and medals, where text is in russian, pls let me know too.
Thank you all on advance

Sadagura (or Sadagora) mint (1771-1774)?
S-a-d-o-g-u-r-a
In russian-english book by word-wide expert V V Uzdenikov it was translated as above.
Generally, in russian language this name consist of two words as you know:
s-a-d which means a garden and g-o(U)-r-a means a mountain respectevely.

The auction company would be happy to give the name of the consignor, but the consignor or his heirs have the right of privacy.
yes, they do have these rights - it just becomes another unnamed collection
my point was that with again with data on collection and collector it would be a great and long memorable reference in the future, without - if one can remember - sinkona 2

If you would ask SINCONA such question, the answer would surely be "No comments".
I appreceiate the sales where the history and biogrpahy of collection is given, including a photos. For example, Antonin Prokop collection by Aurea, Heiberg by Gorny, Cruz by same Gorny, few of Dr Hesselgesser by Goldberg, etc.
"No comments" means to me no respect to the prospective buyers, IMXO

I have this Russian coin and i can't identify it.If you recognize it, please tell me if it is valuable!Thank you!
This is wrong category to place your coin.
As you can read - this is for articles only.
Your coin is a scrap coin only because of its very bad condition.
And welcome to coinpeople, BTW !

Hmm, what would you make of this auction for a 1770 pyatak. I stared at the coin for quite a bit yesterday, and decided that it is not quite the old (pre 1770) style eagle. Today I was quite surprised with the auction's result:
eagle is 1763-1768 IMXO

I got another idea for you; you go to dealer/s shop/s and take one melt 10 gold ruble on loan for some price and leave deposit or the full price they ask. As soon as your kids presentation ends, you come back to the shop and get your many back minus dealer interest.
All can be arranged on paper and you can tell them the true story what you taking this coin for! Let me know if this can be done in your area. Good luck !
-
you need some luck if ebay is your prime source/hope
place on your watch list all coins you find and you are free to consult with myself
which one you plannig to buy in your price range if you get lucky for your price

the correspondent from staray moneta says that first auction is going to be in september or i missed something from him?
BTW, I received a letter from UBS today too

I received a letter from UBS today stating that they are out of numismatics as of April 30th.
For their own numismatic needs they will be using Sioncona AG.
The first auction by Sincona will be from June 29th to July 1.
Next two catalogs will be mailed to the existing UBS clients.

This might be of special interest to Russian coin collectors and dealers who have dealt with UBS auctions in the past:
UBS Switzerland discontinuing numismatics services (link to my thread on the World Coins forum)
There were a few fake Russian coins sold in recent auctions ... wonder if this had anything to do with their decision?
*a (UBS?)correspondent on russian forum informed that UBS numismatic just left UBS firm on its own and will continue provide numismatic servises but again out of UBS firm, only
*secondly, regarding a letter posted here, it does confirm that UBS numismatic just out of UBS firm and joined with Sincona Swiss International Coin Auction AG, which is OK with me, IMXO
*so far there are no information that UBS numismatic is out because of selling fake samples, IMXO
there are others financinal issues but not numismatics

this is my favorite theme. I have almost collected all the coins, I stayed interpretation is very rare
this is not only your favorite topic, I like it too

I inspected the picture closely, too. IMHO it is not quite the rare later eagle (Bitkin295) but rather a variant of the common eagle (Bitkin 294) or something inbetween. The eagle's tail looks like that of the later eagle, but the crown seems to be of the larger size of the 1803 type. I would greatly appreciate other peoples' opinions on this.
Was the coin the rare variant or not? Thank you, Sigi

the price reached so high for the common eagle looks to me too, not that rare one which little bit narrow with wings pooled up, however I do not like bubles on this coin IMXO
