I own several large us cents that have counter stamps on them, and have no idea why they are there.Could somebody please explain it to me?? Thanks. This 1852 is an example
They are both beautiful coins with flawless art, but the medal is reminiscent of the lovely European designs that I'm so fond of. Sorry ikaros, but I have to give my vote to it.
Most of us have kept at least one.They maybe cull but we love em. Mine is a 1832 capped bust half dime and a 1954 seated half dime. And just so y'all know, I wouldn't get rid of either, they started my love affair with smalls.
