  3. All recently from your cash drawers?! wow.
  4. This '91 is an impressively ornate and well-coined piece compared to the later pieces above it.
  5. Yeah. Ive seen a few of those but keep it for its good looks and its filler spot.
  6. All eye-poppers. The foreign notes makes me impatient for the next Popular Banknote Idol.
  7. You're right. I don't believe it. You have a daughter.
  8. I've got access to equipment that can measure the conductivity of the plating on the surface. It doesn't penetrate the material too far. Also if you want to get really nutty, electron microscopy can easily determine the surface's composition. Of course, it's all a bit overkill don't you think?
  9. Surface conductivity measurements anyone?
  10. All gorgeous. I wish I could see them in hand. Care to send them this way???

    Barber Dime

Barber Dime Pattern Judd-1760, Pollock-1974 No difference between this and issued design. Only one known. References: Judd's 1959 United States Pattern, Experimental, and Trial Pieces, USPatterns.com
  18. One of two known examples of this variety. This piece went for $52,900 in mid-2004.
  19. All pics from Heritage Auction archives. All information from Heritage Auctions and Dr. J. Hewitt Judd's "United States Pattern, Experimental and Trial Pieces" - 1959 edition. I will do my best to add additional information and varieties but given my resources, this is the best I can do. I'm using this series and others to build my pattern collecting knowledge. One day I'll have these coins and other magnificent alternative designs.
  20. Walking Liberty Half Dollar Patterns Judd-1991 (formerly Judd-1798), Pollack-2056 According to Heritage Auctions, believed to be the earliest of the six varieties of patterns. Differences Obverse - "LIBERTY" around top of obverse, not as spread apart as accepted version - Smaller Liberty figure than on accepted design - Lower "IN GOD WE TRUST" and different indentation as accepted version - Added behind back heel Reverse - Same as Judd-1992
