frankyg
Hi everyone, .Just thought I'd post a couple of photos of a fake George 4th £2 coin that I picked up a few years ago. It is the right size but only weighs 6.58 grammes, about half of what it should weigh. It's made of brass and appears to have been stamped rather than cast which makes me wonder if there are many of these around. Has anyone ever come across these before? Also I am curious as to any value it may have as an obvious fake. Regards Frank
Drusus
I have seen several of these on ebay but if I remember correctly they were being sold as reproductions...they are very obvious fakes.
frankyg
Thanks Drusus. It is an obvious fake but I was just curious as to whether it was modern.
YeOldeCollector
It looks akin to some of the Lauer toy money which often sells for a few quid a piece.
