gxseries
My Russian is hopeless since it has been more than ten years I last used it... Can I assume that these were issued around 1990 because similar coins were issued in 1990 and 1991? Makes me wonder if these had the potential to be prototypes to be issued on precious metals. one-kuna
I think these were issued as they are cost less to the ones in preciuos metals
Steve D'Ippolito
By my reading it's the 250th anniversary of "Russian America" (i.e., Alaska) and there is a 1741 date on the medals. So 1991 would be the best guess (I suppose they could have been issued a year or two early). On the other hand one of the coins sports a 1732 date, and another says 1778, so I could be totally off base with this. Edit: Well DUH from the title you figured all that out already. Sorry. Art1.2
Terrific looking medals. Are they brass?
BKB
some sort of copper/nickel. These were sold in huge amounts. I should have a set or two laying around somewhere. I never saw these in precious metal.
