hbshadoks
Hello Coinpeople, I wonder if you could help me and sorry in advance if I make mistakes, this is my first entry in a forum and I am also new in the marvelous world of coins. I just recognized on a circulated coin that the part "we trust" of "in God we trust" on that coin goes to the line of the border on the coin. Is this a misprint? Is this interesting? sorry for the fuzzy picture: http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w463/hbshadoks/coin1986onecent.jpg Thank you for your time and help, greetings from Germany. hbshadoks
Mark Stilson
Its been struck just a little bit off center and fairly common. It is something you should keep an eye out for though. Most off center strikes don't carry a premium until they make to about 15% off center.

Steven_2b1ask1
Die deterioration is causing the effect you see on this coinat "we trust". About being off center I can't tell without a photo of the reverse. My guess is it may be a bit misaligned from the obverse die (MAD).
