Prekol
Hello, I just recieved a 1917 20 kopek I purchased, and measured the weight and it seems off. The weight comes up 3.77g. My scale has a error of .01 and I weight a 50g weight that came with the scale to calibrate it, and the weight was spot on 50g. Do you think the coin is a fake, or is my scale loosing it. alexbq2
I don't like the look of that 7. Could you post a larger image, maybe crop around the 7. Too me it looks like the horizontal bar is too thin.

Rhino
Not sure if it is fake or not, but from the 1896-1917 series of the Kopek coins, is this one the most commonly faked since it is so scarce? Or would common dates like 1914, 1916, 1902 also be faked?
Prekol
I haven't come across common dates faked for 20 kopek, but I have seen a fake 1917, that why I am a bit cautious on this one. Especially unlike the common date that go for 15 dollars tops, this cost me much more then that. That is why I wanted to get some other opinion. alexbq2
In my opinion this is a fake. The style of the last digit is not correct, and the digit is elevated compared to the other digits in the date.

RW Julian
Any other opinions before I return to seller? I do not like the figures 1 and 7 in the date. The cross atop the reverse crown seems to be at an angle but this may be due to the lighting. RWJ
one-kuna
the first digit 1 and then 7 are very suspicious, and anyway with such scratches it woud not be such enjoyable investment in my opinion
